about accog

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners," Isaiah 61:1

We are

A Place for Worship
The primary reason we meet together is to focus our attention on God, giving Him our worship and receiving His blessing and inspiration When we humbly put our faith and trust in Him, we receive His blessing, guidance and peace that passes all understanding.

A Place for Service
Just as Jesus Christ came "not to be ministered unto, but to minister..." we accept our responsibility to reach out in service to others. This applies both within the church family and outside our church walls.

A Place for Enrichment
For every person at every age level we offer a wealth of opportunities - special programs and minisries for children, youth, adults, and seniors.

A Place for Learning
To us, studying the Bible is vital. We believe it and accept it as God's word to us, a bood that is alive and relevant to life today.

A Place for Friendship
Nothing quite compares to the joy of Christian friendship. That's why we make it a priority to build lasting bonds between the members of our church family - bonds of concern and genuine commitment to one another. We would love for it to include you.

declaration of faith

We Believe:

In the verbal inspiration of the Bible

In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Faher, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.

That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wroght by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.

Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.

In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.

In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

In water baptism by immersion , and all who repent should be baptised in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.

In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saint's feet.

In the permillennial second coming of Jesus. First to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth for a thousand years.

In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Some Whys

Why do we stand to sing?

"And the Levites...of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high" (2 Cr. 20:19)

"After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands, and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb." (Rev. 7:9-10)

Why do we clap our hands?

"O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph" (Psalm47:1)

Why do we lift our hands?

"Thus I will bless Thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in Thy name." (Psalm 63:4)

"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord" (Psalm 134:2)

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, with out wrath and doubting." (1 Tim. 2:8)

Why do we have audible praise unto God?

"Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me bless His holy name." (Psalm 103:1)

"And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven saying, Alleluia: Salvation and glory and honor, and power unto the Lord our God...And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.: (Rev. 19: 1, 6)

"What is it then? I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the Spirit and I will sing with the understanding also." (1 Cor. 14:15)

Why do we pray in tongues and in English?

"For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the Spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." (1 Cor. 14-15)
